BLACK LUNG INK

Black Lung Ink is a company based in Miami, Florida owned by an active graffiti writer of 20+ years.  Having been surrounded by members of the largest and most well-known American crews of the country, the knowledge and authenticity about what people want is about as credible as you can get.  

The truth is there is a large gap in the graffiti art market for homemade style products on a larger scale.  No one in graffiti with any interest in making ink or markers at home ever uses alcohol or water as their solvent.  So why do people buy all the mass produced corporate owned brands that do? Alcohol as a solvent produces thin and watery ink.  It’s easily buffed by latex paint and wiped off by anti-graffiti products made of acetone.  This allows for a product that is quickly finished or painted which essentially ends with the customer making more and more purchases that a long-lasting buff proof product would not.

Black Lung was not created as a company to drain artists out of their money or make as much money as quickly as possible.  We are not a copy of a copy of a copy of Krink.  We are a wholly original, unique and extreme product created for the active bomber who wants the darkest, most corrosive products as possible.

How is that possible? By only using name brand products and by keeping the production team small.  We keep the recipe simple and the quality top notch.  Every single drop of ink in every product is hand forged and inspected before embossed with the logo.  The number of different products is small.  Production is uniform to a T, with each recipe being the same every time down to the ML and OZ.

But on top of it all. We only make products we would use and do use.  No one at Black Lung has ever purchased another companies' product since its inception for personal use.

What can be better than an ink made of strictly name brand oil and solvents?  We ALSO have found a way to be sold at a cheaper price than the conglomerate owned corporate graffiti brands.  After heavy research done into the industry, we have confirmed some of the most famous brands have over 1600% mark up on certain individual products.  What does that mean? It means they have products that cost them 1 dollar to produce that they sell for 15.99.  We’re not out here to start beef anyone so naming names publicly is irrelevant. 

What we ARE here for is to say that’s not right and ultimately detrimental to the graffiti scene.   Our belief is that graffiti writers tend to be poor and marginalized.  Graffiti produces the tightest bonds between friends I have ever witnessed.  I’m still friends with multiple numbers of people I met the year I really started writing.

Keeping the team small has a few very specific drawbacks.  Large orders and custom orders will take longer.  Batches are not mass produced and made to order.  Individual orders are shipped when a quota is reached to save on shipping costs and trips to the post office.  

Individual orders can be expected to be shipped up to 7 days from order if there are many larger store accounts at the time.  Extremely large or custom orders may be up to a month although never have yet.  This is due to fact that every single product is made with exceptional attention to detail, by a small team of well-trained ink smiths.

So, if you want the kind of ink from the old days, or the smelly as hell stuff you remember before graffiti got commodified, give us a chance.  Up to now, we have NEVER had a single customer say the product was weak.  On the other hand, we can humbly say we’ve had plenty who have said it’s the best shit they’ve ever had.
